We’re a city of passionate people who are committed to bringing their interests to the world, which is why there are so many amazing local festivals coming up this October!
The Halloween and Entertainment Expo is a new event from the creators of Screamfest! If you love Halloween, horror movies and all things that go bump in the night, then you deserve to come to Calgary from October 11 to 14. That’s because the Halloween And Entertainment Expo (HEX) is coming to the BMO Centre at Stampede Park!
HEX is Canada’s first fan expo dedicated to Halloween. It’s everything you love about events like comic con but for ghosts, ghouls, witches and things that go bump in the night. Meet industry luminaries, get tips on how to create practical effects yourself, watch exclusive screenings and bond with others who love a good scare as much as you do.
Even better, admission to HEX gets you into Screamfest Resurrected, a haunted house extravaganza! Screamfest was originally some of the country’s best-haunted house designers and actors putting together terrorific experiences, and that is back this year!
While HEX and Screamfest are considered “family-friendly,” they are highly recommended for ages 12+. These scares don’t hold back!
A festival dedicated to original compositions by contemporary composers! The organizers of the New Music Festival realized that there weren’t many venues available for contemporary instrumental music in the tradition of classical music but by new names, so they put together this festival to bring great music to Calgary! Filled with thought-provoking, transcendent pieces. Takes place October 24-27 at Festival Hall!
There’s so much to see and do in Calgary at any time of year. Explore it all from your home base at the Best Western Premier Freeport Inn & Suites when you reserve your room today!
