The new year is about to begin! Are you ready to kick it off right by having a great time here in Calgary? There’s always something fun to do in Cow Town, but these are our picks for a great way to make sure your January is a blast!
Jim Cuddy is a true Canadian great. One of the principal songwriters of Blue Rodeo, he’s penned some of the country’s classic songs over the years and performs them with his trademark warmth and talent wherever he goes. If you’ve never seen him play live, you have to get tickets; if you HAVE seen him perform before, you KNOW you have to get tickets.
Catch him on his Countrywide Soul tour, on January 5 at Arts Commons here in Calgary with special guests Oh, Susanna!
Since forming in Toronto in 2008, The Strumbellas have been building buzz and a fervent fanbase. And why not? They play big folk-rock tunes that aim for the rafters and get people singing along even if it’s the first time they’ve ever heard the song. They recently made a major debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers and their latest album, Rattlesnake, has been tearing up the charts. This is feel-good music, and it’s not to be missed when they play on January 14 at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.
